Owning the printer means the decision to change a wall stops being a procurement question and becomes a scheduling one. Your own people run the machine, on your own calendar.

• Public libraries — feature walls and children's areas refreshed without a capital project
• Park buildings and restrooms — exterior murals on concrete and brick outbuildings
• Anti-graffiti murals — a printed wall is a harder target than a blank one, and reprinting is cheap

Municipal work is spread across a lot of small buildings, and each one is too minor to justify its own vendor engagement. Owning the machine changes the arithmetic: a parks crew can take the printer to a dozen sites over a season, and the cost per wall after the first is ink and time. Exterior prints hold up outdoors, and a sealant extends that further.
